Removing a .pst file from Outlook Desktop App

This article is written for the Outlook Desktop App running on a Windows operating system.

  1. Open Outlook.

  2. In your inbox, click on the File tab in the top left.

  3. Click Account Settings.

  4. In the drop down menu, click Account Settings.

  5. In the Account Settings screen, select the Data Files tab.

  6. Your Outlook Data Files are listed within the Data Files screen. Locate your Outlook Data File and click it once. Now that it is selected, clickRemove.

  7. Reassure Microsoft that you would like to remove the Outlook Data File.
