How to find an email "header" in OWA (Outlook Web App)

If you have been migrated to Exchange Online, please visit the UNH IT Knowledge Base article of - Getting Email Headers

E-mail message headers provide a list of technical details about the message, such as who sent it, the software used to compose it, and the e-mail servers that it passed through on its way to the recipient.

To find the email header in Outlook Web App

  • Double click the message to open it in a new window.
  • Click the option icon (three dots near the top right) and then click view message details.

  • A new window will pop up with the header information. Copy the information and paste into desired location (Text Document, Email, Word).

To easily grab the information, you can right click and "Select All", then press "Ctrl + C" to copy.
