How to Check Your Google Chrome Version

1. On your computer, open Chrome. At the top right, click the three vertical dots symbol called “Customize and Control Google Chrome”. If your Chrome needs an update, the dropdown menu that opens will contain an option “Update Google Chrome”. Click that option to force the update and then relaunch your browser.

2. If you don’t see the “Update Google Chrome” option, click on Help, then click on About Google Chrome.

3. This will open a new tab “About Chrome”. It will tell you your version number and the update status. If you are up to date and the version number is 74.0.3729.108, you are all set. If you are out of date, opening this tab will force Chrome to automatically download and install the latest update. If you see that it’s searching for update, just check back later or wait for a couple minutes to confirm that the status changes to “Up to date”.
