Banner Finance Account FAQ

What is a Banner Finance Account?

Banner Finance is the financial management systems database for USNH. This includes invoices, purchase orders, encumbrances, journal entries, etc. In order to access this system, you must apply for a Banner Finance Account.


Who Can Get a Banner Finance Account?

Accounts are issued to University System of New Hampshire staff members upon request of their respective department head. These accounts are to be used only by the staff member to whom the account is assigned, and only for the purpose of performing administrative data processing within the confines of the staff member's official University duties.


How Can I Apply for an Account?


Banner Finance accounts can be requested through the Accounts Management System by selecting "Financial Administration" and then "Banner Finance" on the Required Services page. (Note: Do Not Use Internet Explorer).

How Do I Access Banner Finance Once I Have an Account?

New Banner Finance users should refer to the Banner Configuration page for instructions on how to access Banner Finance for the first time.

After you have configured Banner Finance, you can access the application as follows:

  1. Login to the VPN at connect.vpn.unh.edu
  2. Go to usnhgateway.org
  3. Hover over "Production Systems", then "USNH Finance/HR Banner", then "Finance/HR Banner Production (BPRD)"
  4. Login with your Banner Finance/HR username and password


How Do I Change My Banner Password?

  1. Login to the VPN at connect.vpn.unh.edu
  2. Go to usnhgateway.org
  3. Hover over "Production Systems", then "USNH Finance/HR Banner", then "Finance/HR Banner Production (BPRD)"
  4. Login with your Banner Finance/HR username and password
  5. Go to My Links and click on "Change Banner Password"
  6. Type your current password in the Oracle Password field
  7. Type your new password in the New Oracle Password field
  8. Type your new password in the Verify Password field
  9. Click on save icon

How Do I Modify My Banner Finance Account?

Requests to modify your Banner Finance account can be made through the Accounts Management System. (Note: Do Not Use Internet Explorer).

If you have any questions regarding the modification of this account or are unable to complete the online modification request, please contact the Banner Finance Security group at banner.finance.security@unh.edu.  Banner Finance/HR usernames cannot be changed.


What are the System Requirements for Using Banner?

Banner Finance supports computers running Microsoft Windows 7 with the following programs:

 

Banner Finance is not currently supported to run on Windows 10, OS X, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or with Mozilla Firefox. You may experience limited functionality while using these unsupported operating systems and browsers.

 


Where Can I Get Training?

UNH IT no longer offers training for Banner products. Each department is expected to train new employees at this time.


How Do I Get a Banner Finance Account Disabled?

The Human Resources employee termination process is directly related to disabling of computer accounts.  On an employee's termination date his or her Banner Finance account will be automatically disabled.  If you want an account disabled prior to an employee leaving the University, please call the UNH IT Service Desk at 862-4242.
