UNH IT introduced Business Relationship Management to maximize the value of the University technology portfolio. Business Relationship Management is designed to foster strong peer-to-peer relationships between Information Technology organizations and departmental technology users across UNH.

Business Relationship Management requires the oversight of a dedicated Business Relationship Manager (BRM), who assists clients with vendor due diligence reviews, financial assessments, requirements matching, security considerations, and helping UNH clients navigate the technology selection process from assessing IT resource requirements to vendor review on through implementation. Whenever possible the BRM will attempt to match a client’s technology needs with existing IT services and products  and if an inhouse solution isn’t readily available the BRM will partner with the client and procurement to select a new vendor through the bid process.

The BRM also offers Service Management lifecycle consulting. This service includes defining who will manage accounts, how upgrades are implemented, end-user communications, success metrics, the total cost of ownership, security, and vendor relationship management.

UNH IT PMO hired Cindy Cargill in 2017 to fill the role of Business Relationship Manager (BRM).. Cindy started at UNH in 2011, leading a team of developers and project managers in Academic Technology. Cindy is a Business Relationship Management Professional (BRMP®), a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and completed an MS in Project Management. Over the past year, Cindy focused on several strategic projects, collected data on the university’s current software portfolio, and developed processes and resources for software acquisition and management.
