Audiovisual Equipment Rental and Delivery

Audiovisual Services has an impressive inventory to choose from. Our courteous staff will take your reservation and deliver, setup and breakdown equipment for you. Equipment is subject to availability, so please make your requests in advance. Equipment is free of charge to all UNH-registered courses, including equipment in conjunction with a course requirement (for example a presentation or assignment). A nominal is charged for extracurricular events.

Audiovisual Services provides production for events of all sizes and scopes. Our work ranges from providing sound for the Traditional Jazz Series to sound and projection for academic symposia to transforming a large venue using sound, lighting and projection for an elegant gala dinner.

Automated Call Distribution (ACD)

Telecommunications provides Automated Call Distribution (ACD) which allows calls coming in to a department telephone number to be distributed among a designated pool of telephones, allowing multiple staff to handle the incoming call volume.

Banner Self Service (Webcat) is self-service, administrative software enabling users to view, and in some cases update, administrative data.

Call Forwarding to Mobile

Telecommunications provides Extension to Cellular (EC500) solution which offers the freedom to work anywhere, anytime, using your cell phone. With EC500, calls to your office number are extended to your cell phone, allowing you to choose to receive work-related calls on your cell phone.

Central Printing Servers

Central Printing Servers are available to staff and faculty to provide centralized printing queues that are easily accessible while on campus or on the VPN. Printers can be added to a Windows machine quickly and efficiently.

Cloud Storage and File Sharing

Box @ UNH is a service which enables you to store, collaborate and share information. Box @ UNH uses the platform; a cloud-based solution that can be accessed through any device: desktop, laptop, phone or tablet.

Community Mailing Lists

UNH IT maintains a mailing list server to support the creation of opt-in community mailing lists.  Mailing lists at UNH are managed using Mailman, a popular open-source electronic Mailing List Management (MLM) program with an easy to use web interface. Any member of the UNH community may sponsor the creation of such a list. The UNH Student Computing Labs/Clusters provide Macintosh, Windows, and Linux computer systems free for use by all UNH faculty, staff, and students.

Computer Lab Management and Consulting

The Academic Computing Systems staff will provide consulting services on an hourly basis to install operating systems or software, configure equipment, or troubleshoot and repair software problems in computer labs.

Consulting: Public Safety Video Cameras

Video cameras that are installed at the University of New Hampshire for safety and law enforcement purposes and video data from such cameras must comply with the Public Safety Video Camera System (PSVCS) standard. The standard applies to all University campuses and off-campus properties as well as all departments and individuals. New camera installations must comply with the standard; existing cameras and installations are required to migrate to the standard when upgraded, or sooner if otherwise appropriate.

Course Software Installation

Academic Technology staff install and maintain all of the software for the public Student Computing Clusters, Hands-on Classrooms, and SuperTEC classrooms as well as various department-owned labs that we manage. In addition to actually installing requested programs, we also will consult with faculty members trying to select the best software for use in their courses.

Data Center Hosting

The Data Center offers a fully alarmed, generator-backed, and secure hosting service for servers, storage systems and other hardware that require either high availability or security.

Data Visualization

Tableau is data visualization software that lets you easily connect to data and use it to create interactive, sharable dashboards. UNH has have two types of clients who use Tableau: those who develop data visualizations and those who interact with data visualizations that developers create. Desktop Consulting

Through Service Level Agreements, UNH departments can leverage UNH IT Desktop Consulting support, gaining access to the collective knowledge of UNH IT staff and best practices. Consultants provide localized services to meet the needs of clients in accordance with UNH IT standards. This approach ensures compliance with security standards and technology trends and provides visibility into new UNH IT initiatives. 

Digital Signage

UNH TV hosts a series of display devices across the UNH Durham and Manchester campuses, designed to display informational content including digital posters, movies, social media, and emergency alerts via a single central portal.

Enterprise Encryption Services

UNH offers Sophos SafeGuard Encryption which is an IT managed enterprise encryption solution for the following operating systems: Microsoft Windows, Mac OS, and Linux. There is no cost to encrypt computers for UNH/USNH employees.

Exam Scanning

The Exam Scanning service includes new functionality and is be accomplished entirely in house; everything from the printing of materials to the actual scanning occurs at UNH. All results from the exams can be posted quickly and securely to both Blackboard and Canvas, and is accessible by faculty and teaching assistants with proper credentials. The new service provides faculty with secure, comprehensive, and easy to access statistical analysis. Output formats include PDF, digital copies of student response sheets, and an Excel file output.

FAMIS Self-Service enables faculty, staff, and students to enter non-emergency facilities and key service requests, as well as view the status of existing requests.

Telecommunications and Network Services operate and manage department level firewalls to control the incoming and outgoing network traffic.

Hands-On Classrooms

UNH Academic Technology Audiovisual Services Department maintains classroom-sized computer facilities in Hewitt Hall, Kingsbury Hall, and the Memorial Union Building for demonstrations or hands-on computer training for academic classes.

Web Surveying

UNH has licensed the Qualtrics Survey Research Suite, a Web-based survey and data analysis service. This license provides the UNH community with a set of powerful online survey and research tools, and allows an unlimited number of surveys and survey responses annually. Our license also includes Offline Survey capabilities for use with tablet or smartphone devices. All UNH students, faculty, and staff are permitted to use the service for coursework, research, and all other University-related business.
