At this point in the semester the regular add/drops have slowed down, but we start to see a sharp spike in new 'courses' being created in myCourses because of the honors designation.
For all the details on what happens as part of the honors designation process you can read this description provided by the honors program: http://www.unh.edu/honors-program/designating-course-honors
The important thing to note is in the second to last paragraph, "the Registrar will create a special Honors section...

Back in December we had done a blog post on the results of the survey sent to all students enrolled in a course that used myCourses in Fall 2015 and shared the overall positive response as well as a few areas where they identified a need for improvement. If you missed that post, check it out here: http://www.unh.edu/it/news/2015/12/the-results-are-in
I wanted to take a few minutes to also share with you some of the feedback from faculty as well. Over 50 faculty who participated in the...

What is a question group vs. a question bank and what the heck am I supposed to do with them? This is something you might be wondering as you start to build out online quizzes in myCourses and you would not be the first faculty to be stumped. There are entire threads in the Canvas Community dedicated to exploring these features, when you might use them, and the pros and cons of the different ways you can manage your quiz questions. Feel free to head there (https://community.canvaslms.com/...

Welcome back to campus! It is great to see the energy returning to the empty buildings and sidewalks, and the re-opening of the coffee stops convenient to those of us who work in the library.
This weekend we will get our standard, every 3 weeks, update to myCourses from Canvas. Luckily for us, this is a very minor update and many users will not even notice the changes. There are two user interface changes I do want to point out:
When a user views a module item, the Previous and Next...

It happens even to the most diligent instructors; you set your course up, all your content is organized and linked the way you want it, you review and test it all, the students go to access it and they get an access error :( How can you avoid this trap?
myCourses has a feature that was recently released to help you out and identify these issues before the students run into it. It is called the Link Validator and it searches your course to find all invalid and unresponsive links. To access...

Congratulations, fall term is over! Now that exams have wrapped up and final grades are done (or at least close!), the questions start to be asked, "What happens to my course now? What access do I and students have going forward?"
These questions and answers will explain a little more about how the process works.
Q1. How long is a course available to students and faculty after the end of the term?
A1. By default, students and faculty will continue to have full access to the course until...

The results are in and one thing is clear, the student experience in myCourses for the Fall Pilot was overwhelmingly a positive one.
We sent out a survey to all students enrolled in at least one course using myCourses this fall and over 90% of the 700 responders indicated that the overall experience was Excellent or Good!
Congratulations to all the instructors who participated in this pilot and supported the students through this transition, 46% of the students used their Professor or TA...

In the spirit of the holiday season and giving to others Canvas has prepared a new release full of new features and functions that started as user requests in the Canvas Community. It's time for the latest and greatest updates from Canvas to be applied to myCourses and I wanted to share with you a quick overview of some of the changes you will see when you login after the update.
Dashboard Course Nicknames - Users will now have an option to assign a nickname to any of their courses on the dashboard. This could be dangerous, but luckily, this nickname will only show to that individual user and they can still hover over the nickname to see the proper course name....
