There have been some questions concerning how grades are weighted in myCourses. I think the myCourses by Canvas blog post (with ensuing comments) in the link below is the best treatment of the subject that I've seen. So without further ado:
And remember, you are part of the Canvas community and can propose, share, and vote on ideas here:

The updates for myCourses for Saturday May 14th, 2016 are very light consisting mostly of bug fixes. The notes and video are here:
Since the update is light, here's a tip: Is it possible to personalize to scale? Or is that phrase just an oxymoron? Whether you feel it is possible or not, myCourses does have a nice “Message Students Who” feature. This means you can send out messages to students (en masse) who meet certain criteria and you can do it...

myCourses by Canvas operates on a three-week release cycle through which features are added or updated. Academic Technology Teaching and Learning Support blogs highlights from myCourses’ production release notes, a link to these notes, and other relevant content in the days surrounding a production release.
Here are the highlights of the 4/23 myCourses Production Release:
Wrapped Assignments and Event Titles: The Calendar-Month view supports text-wrapping for events and assignment titles...

While it might not be the “greatest invention since the zipper” the ability to upload zipped files and folders into myCourses is a very handy feature, especially as we approach the end of the road for Blackboard Learn at UNH (which is May 31st by the way.)
So what’s so great about it? Well, you can upload multiple files at once and myCourses preserves the original folder hierarchy contained in the .zip file being uploaded. Just remember that there is a 500MB storage limit for each course and...

Did you know you the myCourses SpeedGrader has a sort feature? Using the settings link, you can sort assignments by student name, date submitted, or submission status. Choosing submission status ensures that only assignments that need grading bubble up to the top, meaning you don’t need to wade through students who haven’t yet submitted anything for that assignment. (Especially useful in larger classes.)
If you use the SpeedGrader, you’ll definitely want to take advantage of this feature. So...

This myCourses updates summary is shorter than usual as most of the production release pertains to the administration of myCourses. There is at least one notable user feature though, which is outlined below.
Notification Preference View: On the Notifications page, the notification option menus can be changed without hovering your cursor over a row-column intersection. This change improves accessibility allowing notification options to be accessed by all users. Enabled notifications are shown...

Here is a summary of the most recent myCourses production release:
Analytics & Page Views Table: Account, course, and user analytics can be viewed in graph or table view. To view data in tables, toggle the analytics view at the top of the page. Tables apply to every graph in its respective page, and each column defines the data within its respective graph. This change improves accessibility and allows keyboard users to access additional data that could previously only be viewed by hovering...

This is an exciting weekend as far as updates to myCourses go. There are a number of changes in this update that you will immediately notice when you start using the system. Most of them are visual rather than functional, but there are a few changes in functionality that I think will be welcomed by many.
You can read all of the nitty gritty details from Canvas here: https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-6092
And the summarized highlights on the changes you are most likely to notice are...

As a follow-up to the post on Question Pools and the difference between question banks and question groups this post is dedicated to go a little deeper into the quiz features and talk about some of the lessons learned by our pilot faculty including common issues they encountered and how to avoid them.
This is a lot of information and you might be struggling to take it all in. If you are having problems with quizzes and would like training or would one on one help check the AT Training...

At this point in the semester the regular add/drops have slowed down, but we start to see a sharp spike in new 'courses' being created in myCourses because of the honors designation.
For all the details on what happens as part of the honors designation process you can read this description provided by the honors program: http://www.unh.edu/honors-program/designating-course-honors
The important thing to note is in the second to last paragraph, "the Registrar will create a special Honors section...
