Canvas has reported that some users are sporadically getting “Service is currently unavailable. Try again later.” messages when viewing assignments/documents. UNH is awaiting updates from the vendor and will share them as they become available.

There is a large-scale Distributed Denial of Service attack affecting many internet services. The biggest impact to UNH has been delays and slowdowns in accessing Box. We are receiving periodic updates from the vendor and will share them here on the UNH IT web page as we get them.

Some users are experiencing issues accessing Box. At 12:06PM, Box posted the following notice:

A global event is continuing to affect an upstream DNS provider. Box services may be intermittently available at this time.

Calls to UNH Manchester from outside the University phone system are routing to the automated voice recognition (AVR) operator. Phone calls from within the system are routing properly.

There are widespread computing issues on campus this morning. Most services are affected. Teams have been working since early morning to repair the issues, but issues will persist throughout the morning.

 

Further communications will be issued as new information develops on the widespread computing issues.

WebI Finance and HR are currently unavailable due to production issues last night. Reporting will be unavailable for most of the morning while system administrators work to resolve the issue.

Other WebI reporting environments are not impacted by this issue.

Microsoft has resolved the global issue with Exchange Online Protection mail filtering. Mail is no longer being delayed.

Please note: UNH IT has received multiple reports of a phishing attempt from the sender uofnhit@comcast.net. This phishing attempted coincided with the Microsoft mail delivery issue and references queued mail messages. You can read more about the phishing attempt here.

There is currently a global issue with Microsoft's Exchange Online Protection (EOP) mail filtering which UNH employs.

Microsoft has stated that the issue is being resolved and that mail, while delayed, is being delivered.

Callers are currently unable to get through to various campus call centers including the UNH IT Service Desk, Business Services, Financial Aid, and Thompson School. Other call centers may be impacted.
