Admissions and Competitors Storyboard

CONTENT

This storyboard contains eight interactive dashboards with data related to applicants and admits to UNH and associated enrollment trends. Filtering options will allow users to create visualizations and statistics for subsets of the population of applicants from the Fall of 2012 through the Fall of 2017.

Dashboard Summaries:

  1. SELECTIVITY AND TOP COMPETITORS
    Characteristics of UNH applicants, admits and enrolled students from 2012 – 2017, as well as an analytical summary of UNH’s top 10 competitors
     

  2. Applicant Profile
    A general analysis of in-state versus out-of-state applicants counts based on race/ethnicity, gender, first generation, SAT verbal and math scores. Included is an overview of the number of applicants, admits and enrolled students, as well as the top ten majors based on the number of applicants.

     

  3. ENROLLMENT AND LOST ADMITS TREND
    Five year trend analysis of applicants, admits and enrolled students. Included is an analysis of UNH’s “lost admits” and the associated top ten institutions where these students enrolled.
    (DEF: “Lost Admit” – a student whom applied to UNH, was accepted but chose not enroll.)
     

  4. SELECTIVITY ANALYSIS: HEAT MAP
    A geographic visualization of UNH applicants and admits students by state.
     

  5. YIELD ANALYSIS: AREA MAP
    Geographic visualization of UNH applicants, admits and enrolled students by state.
     

  6. ACADEMIC PROFILE: BUBBLE CHART
    Bubble chart analysis of applicants, admits and enrolled students grouped by GPA and SAT score ranges
     

  7. ENROLLED ACADEMIC PROFILE
    A five-year snapshot of UNH enrolled student’s academic profile based on GPA and SAT score ranges
     

  8. TOP HIGH SCHOOL:
    Heat map visualization of the top ten high schools, by state, where UNH applicants, admits and enrolled students reside.
