David Plachetzki

David Plachetzki is assistant professor in the Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Biomedical Sciences at UNH. He teaches Genetics and Comparative Genomics and manages a lab that uses animal sensory systems as a model to understand how complex traits evolve. He notes that Molly “has done an excellent job on this project and . . . will be difficult to replace once she graduates. I think she has been a great role model for other students.” About publishing in Inquiry, Dr. Plachetzki says that “being able to write for a general audience is an important skill and is critical for advancing scientific literacy in society.”
