Fardeen A. Siddiqui
Fardeen A. Siddiqui is a biotechnology major from Penacook, New Hampshire. He will earn a bachelor of science degree in fall 2022. Presently he is in the Millyard Scholars Program at the University of New Hampshire at Manchester. He conducted the research described in Inquiry with a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) from the Hamel Center for Undergraduate Research. His intrigue in his research topic—bacteriophage--started when he was introduced to it as a first-year student. He became a teaching assistant for the Phage Discovery Lab and helped co-author a paper about bacteriophages which will soon be published. A valuable takeaway from his SURF project is perseverance; for Fardeen, challenges and obstacles motivate him to work harder and create new, innovative ideas to solve problems. He is hopeful to one day be a physician and continue contributing to the development of alternative treatments for diseases as a way to both develop his career and participate in the advancement of biology as a whole.
