FY20 performance reviews will be due to HR this year by December 4th.
Annual performance review details below were sent via email to UNH Managers and Supervisors from Kathy Neils, CHRO on August 12, 2020.
Each year the university asks supervisors and managers to engage in formal job performance dialogues and written performance reviews with their direct reports. This annual process provides employees with an opportunity to express their achievements and challenges, and for supervisors and managers to recognize achievements, clarify expectations, identify needed improvements, and establish goals.
This year has been, and will continue to be a unique work experience for all of us as we expand our skills in navigating the challenges of COVID-19. We acknowledge this has had a strong impact on our employees as many shifted to a remote work environment, adjusted work expectations and met the challenges of building multiple plans to be ready to reopen campus.
Since our work environment has adjusted so dramatically, it is even more important that we maintain our engagement in the annual performance review process, promoting the alignment of our work with the goals of the respective departments and the mission of the university. Engaging in formal feedback once a year is a strategic element in our continued success. It supports retention of our most important asset - our employees – through clear communication around job performance.
Each unit of the university can set due dates that meet their own business needs, however, in support of our current operational environment the deadline for FY20 reviews submission to Human Resources is extended to December 4, 2020. Deans and unit leaders will communicate the date that works best for your department. We will be tracking completion of reviews and will provide updates to the President's Cabinet and Deans with the desired outcome of 100% participation for each unit. For the units that have already completed their performance reviews, thank you for engaging with your employees regarding their performance. There is no need to wait until the deadline to share all your completed reviews with HR.
