Kronos Time Management System Update

Monday, November 25, 2019

November  21, 2019 - Kronos implementation for UNH / USNH was shared by Kathy Neils, CHRO.

Earlier this year, USNH initiated a project to convert our manual timekeeping and payroll processes to an electronic, paperless system known as Kronos WorkForce Dimensions (WFD). Kronos WFD will provide increased payroll accuracy, easy access to current paid leave balances and a portal for requesting and approving time off.

The cross-functional team is working diligently on this project.  As we communicated previously on September 26, 2019, we are using a phased implementation approach and our first pilot group has been providing valuable feedback.

Our next group, all exempt (salary paid) employees, had been targeted for December 14, 2019. However, to provide the best possible version of WFD, we have decided to take more time before this next phase of implementation.

We are incorporating feedback from our first pilot group to enhance the employee experience. More time will ensure data feeds to and from the payroll system to Kronos WFD are working as expected, new job data not historically stored in our payroll system is complete, and training tools are expanded to incorporate the pilot group’s feedback.

UPDATED TIMELINE - Spring 2020:

Employees will receive ample advance notice and training opportunities before each phase of implementation. Implementation dates will continue to be assessed.

  • Phase 1: USNH System Office and all USNH HR teams – in process
  • Phase 2: UNH Office of Business Affairs (OBA) – January 11, 2020, including all hourly paid employees, salary paid employees, student workers and their supervisors/approvers.
  • Phase 3: All exempt (salary paid) employees – February 2020, including fiscal year faculty, and adjusted from the 12/14 date previously announced.oThis stage will include Deans and Faculty identified as approvers of time off requests for salary paid employees.
  • Phase 4: All non-exempt (hourly paid) employees – Spring 2020, including adjuncts and students.

To provide a better understanding of Kronos WFD, UNH will host a few informational overview sessions during the next two months and prior to each go-live date on each of our campuses.
