Why did you choose to become a Hall Manager?

Working as a hall manager at UNH, I have the joy of getting to meet and know so many awesome students as they walk through immensely formative and exciting years.  I love being a part of their UNH experience as I live and learn alongside them!  College was a hugely developmental and fun season of life for me, largely because of the amazing mentors and friends that pushed me to grow, challenged my perspectives, and encouraged me in my passions.  I want my students to experience the same sense of belonging and growth through their years on campus here at UNH!

Why did you choose to work for Housing at the University of New Hampshire?

Housing at UNH is truly like a family made up of amazing people committed to student success and well-being.  I learn so much working alongside this team and truly believe that UNH is a better place because of the culture of care found in the Housing department.  As a former UNH student, I experienced this through my years living on-campus, and knew I wanted to be a part of this team from my first interview!

What are your passion areas in Higher Ed?

  • Basic Needs Support
  • Title IX and Student Accountability

What advice would you give to students?

Some of the best advice I received in college was simple, and still rings true to me today: seek to understand.  Seek to understand people who seem different than you.  Seek to understand perspectives and ideas that differ from your own.  Ask questions.  Listen.  I have been so surprised by the things I have learned, the friends I have made, and the unique conversations I’ve had simply by following this advice!
