Why did you choose to become a Hall Director?

I chose to become a Hall Director because of my personal experiences of support, community, and family when I was an undergrad. I lost my mom in 2011 and when I realized that the Res Staff was not just people who managed buildings my mind was blown! I wanted to be a part of an organization that truly loved and cared for their students! There are a lot of students who are fighting battles we will know nothing about unless we are intentional in connecting with them. As a Hall director, most of my responsibility is in getting to know my residents and their stories! It is also my way of paying it forward to all of those who loved, cared and supported me during my undergrad years!

Why did you choose to work for Res Life at the University of New Hampshire?

UNH felt like home for me as soon as I walked on campus. The way CORE described how much student contact we as hall director's should have was exactly what I wanted! Being able to celebrate our differences are encouraged here at UNH.

What advice would you give to students?

Don't be afraid to find your voice, ask that question, or respectfully challenge that thought. It's okay to dive into a new subject or different friend group take your time and learn something new!
