Why did you choose to become a Hall Director?
I chose to become a Hall Director because as an undergraduate student, I had a mentor who really supported me in cultivating my leadership skills. He knew how to challenge my worldview, provide me with feedback about how I could grow personally and professionally, and navigate tough obstacles such as applying to graduate school! I want to be able to provide this same mentorship to students, as I think this support and encouragement helped me succeed as a first-generation college student.

Why did you choose to work for Res Life at the University of New Hampshire?
As a graduate student at UNH, I worked for the department in between classes a few days a week. Upon working in the office, I could see that the UNH Res Life department has an unwavering sense of community. I immediately felt like any member of the team was willing to support one another! I value teamwork in the workplace and knowing that there are always other Hall Directors and supervisors to turn to for questions really verified the sense of community I felt as a student here.

What advice would you give to students?
I remember being an undergrad not knowing how to establish a school work/life balance. Make sure you do something for yourself every day, whether that be grabbing a coffee or going for a run!
