Offers are made via email on a space-available basis. Please check your UNH email frequently and respond to our offer so we know you accept! Students who accept our offer of on-campus housing agree to the terms of the Room & Board Agreement.

Most available spaces will be within our vibrant on-campus apartment communities at Gables and Woodside. Woodside offers a Transfer Community intended to provide new UNH students with the best possible transition and orientation to our campus.

Housing Request FAQ

The likelihood is very high! Over the past few years we have been able to make offers to every student who has requested housing. Students requesting housing for spring semester can definitely be accommodated as we have plenty of space on-campus for spring.  If you have questions about the status of your application please call us at 603.862.2120.

Since this is an on-line application, you can log in anytime to the Housing Portal and see that the application is "live."

If you feel that there was some problem or your need further assistance, you can email our offices at housing.office@unh.edu to ask for help.

If you have special circumstances that may need consideration, please use the notes area of your housing application. You may also send the information to housing.office@unh.edu or fax it to our office at 603.862.3406.

Applying early helps! As soon as you think you may want on-campus housing, we encourage you to file your request online through this site. We make offers as quickly as possible - typically to a student's UNH email address - so check your account frequently and reply ASAP if you accept. Available spaces on-campus are at Gables or Woodside, our on-campus apartment communities. We do not anticipate having available spaces in the residence halls.

Yes, we would appreciate hearing from you if you'd like to rescind your request. Please send an email to housing.office@unh.edu to let us know.

We make as many offers as we can! Our ability to do so depends on the number of vacancies after the housing processes for current residents are completed as well as on cancellations received after that time. Space often becomes available between semesters if students decide not to return to UNH.

Spring semester is when the most housing is available, but we expect to house every student who would like to live on-campus, regardless of the semester applied for!

For Fall semester we have more students in housing than in the spring. This means students who have submitted housing requests for Fall may have to wait a bit longer to hear from Housing with an offer - but again, - we expect to house every student who requests it! The housing request form for Fall opens in March. Housing makes offers on a rolling basis as spaces become available. This means some students will hear from us right away in March, and some won’t get their offer until over the summer. We would love to house you and will contact you as soon as we have an opening! Thank you for your patience. Because we receive last minute cancellations we sometimes make offers right up to the start of the semester; however there is no way to predict when our last round will be made.

We make housing offers via email.  When you receive an offer the email will include information about how to officially accept the offer, (usually by simply replying to it), as well as information about the next steps.  If you accept our offer for a general space on-campus, your specific housing assignment and move-in information will come closer to the start of the semester.

No, you will only receive notification if we can make you an offer or if we have other housing information. We expect to offer on-campus housing to every student who requests it.

We will try to accommodate your preference but we are not always able to do so. Most offers will be for spaces in the on-campus undergraduate apartments, although we are happy to try to meet the requests of students wishing for a space in the residence halls.
