Scholar Spotlight: Aubrey Porter '22

Aubrey Porter

Hamel Scholar, Aubrey Porter (Psychology, '22), has won the 2021 Rising Star Award, College Student of the Year!  This award is an initiative of Stay Work Play New Hampshire in partnership with New Hampshire Public Radio to celebrate the state’s emerging young leaders and organizations making a positive impact in their communities. Aubrey was recognized for her dedicated work with the Waysmeet Center’s Cornucopia Food Pantry in Durham.

Aubrey serves as Cornucopia Food Pantry Coordinator, and Secretary for the Board at The Waysmeet Center; Her Hamel Scholars Program Task Force, Food and Housing Security, also works closely with the Center. Aubrey also works at the Organic Garden Club, and is a member of Alpha Phi Omega, the community service fraternity at UNH. In the past she has participated in Proves, a community service program for incoming Students at UNH, and was a grant reader for New England Grassroots Environmental Fund. She is also a current member of UNH Psi Chi, the Psychology fraternity, and is a research assistant in a Psychology research lab, where she has worked for the past two summers.

She is definitely a Rising Star!
