Honors Student Leadership Programs

The Honors Student Leadership Programs are comprised of two subgroups: Honors Peer Mentor Program, and the Student Honors Council (Social Committee). Each subgroup has a student director, and these leaders meet with the SHC staff advisor to discuss the efforts of their individual groups as well as coordinated activities across the groups.

To learn more or get involved in any of these groups, just email the student leaders below!

Honors Peer Mentor Program

The Honors Peer Mentor Program serves as the umbrella organization for three Honors Student programs: the summer Enrichment Meet-Up (EMU) Program for incoming Honors Students; Honors Discussion Assistants, who work with students and faculty navigating the complexities of online courses; and Honors Decompression Pods, mixed-class groups of students who get together periodically in-person or virtually to engage in activities and discussions that will help them "decompress," share ideas, resources and support each other during the academic year.

Student Honors Council

The Student Honors Council serves as liaisons between Honors Students and the Honors Program staff. Council members play an active role in proposing and organizing Honors programming, including social and cultural activities and community events.

Council members also assist in the recruitment of new Honors Students and serve as a resource for the Honors Program staff.

And, of course, the group is all about open-mindedness, creativity and having fun.

The Council meets once every two weeks during the semester (times vary by semester).
