What do you do to make a healthy UNH?

I make sure to have a well-rounded diet to fuel my lacrosse workouts, practices, and games.

Do you have any tips for eating healthfully?

Meal prep in the beginning of the week in case you’re too tired to cook healthy at the end of the week. Also keep healthy snacks on hand in your room or kitchen and steer away from too much caffeine.

Have you made any tangible improvements regarding your movement or physical activity by making positive changes in your life?

I started stretching a lot more and doing injury preventative workouts to make sure I don’t get hurt out on the field.

Do you have any positive words of encouragement for members of our audience who are feeling completely drained and burnt out from this pandemic?

Find a good podcast to listen to while working out and listen to an episode every day or find a friend to work out with you to motivate one another.

What do you do to improve your emotional wellness?

I always make time to do something I enjoy at the end of each day outside of schoolwork, a hobby of some sort that I find fun like watching a show or reading.

What does health mean to you?

Being confident in yourself and being able to do the activities you like and enjoy.

Over the last year, have you felt more comfortable advocating for yourself when receiving healthcare?

Yes, more so now than ever but I have always been comfortable enough to tell my doctor if there is anything wrong and working with them to fix it.
