What do you do to make a healthy UNH?
I workout regularly and try to eat as healthy as I can to maintain a well-balanced diet.
Do you have any tips for eating healthfully?
- Don't starve yourself
- Eat proteins at every meal
- Snack between meals
- Drink water with every meal
Have you made any tangible improvements regarding your movement or physical activity by making positive changes in your life?
I cut out unhealthy fats and junk food and noticed that my overall well being during workouts and stamina.
Do you have any positive words of encouragement for members of our audience who are feeling completely drained and burnt out from this pandemic?
Find a healthy hobby or something to add to your daily schedule that can keep you active, taking a 20-minute walk after hanging with friends or watching TV can help a lot. You can even find friends to do outdoor activities with like riding bikes or going for walks.
What do you do to improve your emotional wellness?
Listen to music and go for long walks so I’m not stuck inside with my thoughts all day/night.
What does health mean to you?
I’d like to say being healthy means being happy, but a person can be healthy and unhappy. I would say that being healthy is being in a safe place with your own mind and body and being comfortable with yourself.
Over the last year, have you felt more comfortable advocating for yourself when receiving healthcare?
Yes and no, I’m more comfortable opening up with my health care officials but still struggling to open up with family and friends.
