What do you do to make a healthy UNH?

I motivate myself and others to stay active, prioritize mental health, and generate routines that create positive daily habits.

Do you have any tips for eating healthfully?

Plan your meals and get creative with recipes! Every week before I go grocery shopping I create a list of possible meals I can make with my ingredients so none of it goes to waste and I always have a healthy meal to cook vs snacking or eating out.

Have you made any tangible improvements to regarding your movement or physical activity by making positive changes in your life?

Ever since I have started prioritizing the gym and creating beneficial workouts, physical activity has become more positive then negative. I plan out and create workouts in advance so when I get to the gym, I know exactly what to do and I don’t feel lost.

Do you have any positive words of encouragement for members of our audience who are feeling completely drained and burnt out from this pandemic?

It’s ok to feel completely drained but the pandemic has also created an opportunity to start over and create a new routine! Ease into a new routine and eventually it will become your normal routine again!

What do you do to improve your emotional wellness?

Balance out time by myself but also time with my loved/ones and friends, stay busy and active but also take time to relax, and remember that each day is a new start.

What does health mean to you?

Health to me means doing something every day that either improves my mental or physical health. Even on an off day, knowing I did my best to get out of bed and be productive makes me feel proud and better about myself.

Over the last year, have you felt more comfortable advocating for yourself when receiving healthcare?

Yes, as I have gotten older and after the pandemic I feel more comfortable advocating for myself when receiving healthcare
