Sleep Management Skills

Wellness educators/counselors are available to discuss sleep and stress management. Education, the resource library, and online resources also available. Education/information services are free to the UNH Community. Counseling is also available to students who have paid the health fee, at no additional cost.

Sexually Transmitted Infections Counseling, Testing and Education

Counseling, testing, and treatment, as well as free condoms (latex, polyurethane, incentive), dental dams, and lubricant are available for students.  Education, a resource library, and online resources are also available. Education/information are free to the UNH Community. Counseling is available to students who have paid the health fee, at no additional cost. There is a fee for students who have not paid the health fee.

GLBTQQIA Education and Services

Students and employees who are GLBTQQIA (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, or Allies), will find a safe haven within Health Services. Health Services has gay and gay-friendly staff who are supportive and affirming to all GLBTQQIA students.  Education, a resource library, and online resources are available. Education/information is free to the UNH Community. Counseling available to students who have paid the health fee, at no additional cost.

Light Therapy

Light therapy is one form of treatment for Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Sitting in front of a light box is just one way to cope. Most studies show that about 75% of individuals who experience with SAD feel improvement when using light therapy within a couple days to a few weeks.

Radiology

Health Services Radiology Department performs most standard diagnostic x-rays.  All x-rays take at Health Services are reviewed by a local Radiologist. An x-ray order from  a Health Services Medical Clinician,  Employee Clinic Medical Clinician  or off-campus heatlhcare provider is required before scheduling any x-rays.

Pharmacy

Health Services has prescriptions medications and limited non-prescription medications(at reduced cost compared to local retailers) available for a fee for students. UNH employees can access the Pharmacy in conjunction with acute care visits.  Many low cost generic prescriptions are available for $5.

Meditation

Meditation is an experience of relaxing the body, quieting the mind, and awakening the spirit. Walk-in group meditation sessions are offered  to the UNH community. Appointments to learn how to meditate are available for students.

Medical Acupuncture

Health Services provides medical acupuncture for students for a cost. Ear acupuncture is performed for smoking cessation and stress reduction and body acupuncture is provided for acute and chronic muscular pain and chronic headaches.
