Pet Therapy at UNH: Paws and Relax
Are you a pet lover and need a mental break? Paws and Relax offered by Health and Wellness at the University of New Hampshire, is your chance to hang out with a sweet, fluffy dog to help relieve some stress. According to the Mayo Clinic, pet therapy can help to reduce pain or anxiety for people with a range of health issues. Animals have been used in a variety of settings to help to ease patient, student or others feelings of pain or anxiety.
The action of petting animals is known to have therapeutic effects. People often feel a sense of joy and relief after time with a therapy animal. If you ever have any of these feelings, or simply need a mental break, head over to the Hamel Recreation Center on Wednesdays from 12:00-3:00 pm on the second floor in the Thrive office!
Take advantage of this fun, therapeutic resource available to students on campus to hang out with a loving dog!
