October is Healthy Habits Month.
Do you have healthy habits that benefit you personally? According to Healthline, “a healthy habit is any behavior that benefits your physical, mental, and emotional health.” In addition, these ‘habits’ can increase your state of well-being and make you happier. For college students, healthy habits can be difficult to find on top of studying and keeping a social life. Examples of healthy habits include exercising daily or writing in a gratitude journal.
When you develop healthy habits, they greatly impact your health. Lots of people struggle to create healthy habits, but once they realize the benefits of having them, they stick with them. That’s why it’s good to get into a routine and have a schedule. Here are a few broad healthy habits that Harvard News recommends.
- Eat and maintain a healthy diet
- Exercise regularly
- Keep a healthy body weight
- Be mindful not to drink too much alcohol
- Don’t smoke
You’ve only got one body, so take care of it by creating healthy habits for yourself!
