What My Fitness Tracker Taught Me About Health
Find Out How A Fitness tracker Can Teach You To Be Healthier
Fitness trackers keep track of steps, calories burnt, sleep, exercise, food, heart rate, and much more. Fitness trackers are menat to help people live a healthier life, but while doing this they also teach you a lot about yourself. After using a fitness tracker for almost one year, I have learned a lot about health that I didn't expect when I originally made the purchase.
- 2000 Calories a day is unrealistic for some - I had always thought that becuase I am on the shorter side, I probably didn't need 2000 Calories a day. However, I was surprised to find that the amount of calories I burned in a day fluctuated, but on a normal day where I go to class, work and the gym I burn around 2200 Calories.
- You spend time awake each night - I used to always times my bedtime so that I would get around eight hours of sleep, but because you wake up during the night, even if you dont remember, what was supposed to be eight hours can easily become six and a half or seven.
- Making the effort to walk places increases steps a lot - While at school my step average is 11,000 a day, where as at home it is only 4,000 a day. I was shocked to see how many steps were gained only from walking around campus to my classes or to the dining hall.
