Benefits of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)

Tired of your same old workout? HIIT workouts could be just what you're looking for! HIIT is a type of exercise that involves repeatedly exercising at a high intensity for 30 seconds to several minutes, separated by 1–5 minutes of recovery.

HIIT workouts can be adaptable to any fitness level and can be done quickly, making it a great option for someone with a busy schedule looking to get the many health benefits of exercise. These workouts never have to be boring since they can involve a lot of different activities, like different modes of cycling, weightlifting, calisthenics, swimming, and more.

According to The American College of Sports Medicine  HIIT workouts tend to burn more calories than regular workouts and have major benefits including:

  • Improved cardiovascular health
  • Improved aerobic and anaerobic fitness
  • Better cholesterol profiles
  • Decreased abdominal fat and body weight while maintaining muscle mass
