Improving Your Mental Health

After a long, stressful day, it can be difficult to go for a jog or make way to the gym. People often want to unwind on the couch with their friends and binge- watch Netflix episodes. Individuals often overlook the importance of exercising not only for their physical health, but for their mental health.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) states that consistent physical activity can not only improve physical health, but can assist with keeping your mind sharp as you get older.

There is also a strong relationship between exercise and mood. Michael Otto, PhD stated that usually within five minutes after moderate exercise you get a mood-enhancement effect.

The Hamel Recreation Center on campus is the perfect place to go if you are looking for a way to improve your mood and mental health!

Now the next time you get active you will know that you are strengthening both your body and your mind!
