Looking For Something To Do On a Hot Summer Day?

Spending the day picnicking and swimming at Mendums pond is a great option, and it’s FREE for students and faculty.  All you have to do is stop into Campus Recreation to get a sticker for your ID, and bring it with you when you go. 

After interviewing Cary from the Outdoor Adventures Program, I learned that Mendums Pond has so much to offer and is “close to campus”:

  • Picnic Areas
  • Swimming
  • Paddle Boarding
  • Kayaking
  • Canoeing

Mendums offers paddle board, kayak, and canoe rentals for just $5.00 per hour or you can bring your own.

Just a few weeks ago, I took a trip with Outdoor Adventures to Mendums, for a paddle boarding yoga trip at sunset.  This was the first time that I had been to Mendums and I was blown away.  It’s a beautiful area with so much to offer, and definitely worth going back.

These are the Hours of Operation: Monday: Closed Tuesday- Sunday: Open 11:00am-7:00pm.

Be sure to always check the website for up to date days and hours of operation.

Grab some friends and head to Mendums for the afternoon; remember it’s FREE with your UNH ID and sticker!
