12 Easy Ways to Add Fitness to Your Summer!

According to the Harvard School of Public Health, “Getting regular physical activity is one of the best things you can do for your health. It lowers the risk of heart disease, diabetes, stroke, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, and certain cancers, and it can also help control stress, improve sleep, boost mood, keep weight in check, and reduce the risk of falling and improve cognitive function in older adults.”

Do a workout you like, but don’t do the same thing every day. It is easy to find yourself in a workout rut. It is important to keep your muscles guessing because your body adapts to the same routine, and you may hit a plateau. Meaning you may not be seeing the results you want. So, challenge yourself by changing the intensity, frequency, and duration of your workout.

Maybe you ride your bike or take the same aerobic class at the local gym, but it is time to mix it up! Get your workout in while enjoying a day at the beach! Another helpful tip is to change the order you usually do your exercise. For example, if you start with cardio every day, try starting with weights.

Ultimately, the goal is to find an exercise or sport you’re passionate about. You will be bound to stick to it.

There are so many fun options to choose from!  Invite your friends and family to join.
