Eiffel in Love with Paris
Do as the French do, stay active and go for a bike ride!
Paris, France is a place where any girl dreams of going and I was lucky enough to be able to adventure to the global center of art and fashion. When I think of Paris I think of it as a chic, elegant city. When I arrived I wasn’t let down, the cobblestone streets and the stylish boutiques lined up from side to side; it really is a place of wonder.
When going to Paris it is smart to have a plan. Did you know there are about 250 museums in Paris – crazy right? So it’s best to pick out the ones you really want to go to. The best part is, if you are a student studying within the European Union you don’t have to pay for ANY of the museum entrance fees; so I got to all museums for free. The must see Museum is Musee du Louvre. This museum has art from all around the world – from Egyptian art to ancient roman times. We spent almost three hours in this museum and it still wasn’t enough time! It was simply incredible.
Of course the most important thing to do in Paris is see the Eiffel tower! The first time I saw the “Tour Eiffel” I was blown away. Out of nowhere this big, beautiful French looking tower was standing straight in into the sky. The tower is surrounded by air so it just stands there with such grace. Of course when you go to Paris you need to go up the Eiffel tower! We decided to climb to the second floor of the Eiffel tower. Now just because it’s the second floor don’t let that fool you. 669 steps later and a little out of breath… we made it. It was such a magnificent view. You stare into this huge city filled with white building that seemed never-ending. I was at peace gazing at one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
Another unforgettable activity we did in Paris was ride bikes around city. In Paris there were tons of runners, bikers and walkers EVERYWHERE around the city. It was so inspiring to see how the people of Paris stayed so physically active. My friends and I decided why not join in? Biking around Paris was the best way I saw the city. For two hours we got to see sights that we didn’t have time to get to before.
