Did you know February is American Heart Month?
I’m not talking about chocolate and Valentines Day, but I am talking about preventing high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke!
Cardiovascular Disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. It is vital to incorporate physical activity into your daily routine. But exercise doesn’t have to be boring or mean hitting the gym!
Get moving on campus today! Grab a fellow staff member and head over to the Whitt for open skate. Whether it has been fifteen years since you laced up those dusty skates in the back of your closet, or have no prior experience on the ice. All you need is a Rec pass or UNH I.D. Rent a pair of skates ($3) at the front desk of the Hamel Rec Center.
Why You Should Attend Open Skate:
- Skating is a whole body workout that increases balance, flexibility, and strength
- You can go by yourself or with a group
- It is never too late to try new activity
- Skate at your own level
