An Easy Guide to Making Perfect Overnight Oats
One of the latest trends in nutrition that you may have heard of before are Overnight Oats. This is a simple and easy breakfast which requires zero work in the morning. It is a quick breakfast that can be taken on the go which is perfect for busy college students or people who no longer have the luxury of working from home.
To make this quick and easy breakfast, all you need are: One glass jar (approximately 10-12 ounces), milk of choice, old fashioned oats, greek yogurt, vanilla extract, chia seeds, and honey or maple syrup (whichever you prefer).
Start with your jar, and add ½ cup of oats and ½ cup of milk. Then add ¼ cup yogurt and stir it all together. Then mix in 1 tablespoon each of chia seeds and your sweetener of choice and ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract. Cover the jar and place in the fridge for 6-8 hours.
Do this the night before, and in the morning just grab your jar, throw in your favorite toppings and head out the door! Toppings can be dark chocolate chips, peanut butter, berries, nuts, or even coconut!
This is a great breakfast (or snack) that is packed with fiber, omega-3 and omega-6 fats, calcium, antioxidants, and so much more! This doesn’t have to be a breakfast either. If you are an afternoon snacker (like myself) try making this in the morning so it will be ready when you want a snack.
