Fresh Fall Produce

Seasonal Fruits And Veggies
As summer begins to transition into fall, many people throughout New Hampshire and New England will find themselves wondering what fruits and vegetables are in season. It is no secret that New England has a short and limited growing season. But, fall is not just about apples and pumpkins. There are still ways to get a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables into your diet as the seasons change. Check out this list of fall fruits and vegetables you are guaranteed to find at any local farm stand in New Hampshire:
- Cranberries
- Brussel Sprouts
- Cabbage
- Eggplant
- Sweet Potato
- Green Beans
- Carrots
All of these fruits and vegetables can be cooked and prepared in a variety of ways and can fill your diet with fiber, Vitamin C, and Vitamin A (to name a few!) that can help keep your body healthy and strong. If your local farm stand is not open this fall due to the pandemic, don’t worry. Grocery stores tend to mark down prices on produce they buy from local farms. Just be on the lookout for these at the front of the produce section in your favorite store.
Finally, if you decide to visit your local farmstand, call ahead first to see if there are any new safety protocols to follow due to the pandemic. Even though the world we live in right now may seem scary at times, there are still fun ways that we can get fresh produce. No matter what fruit or vegetable you decide to go with, all of these can help to keep us happy and healthy throughout the fall season!
