Protect Your Immune System With These Nutrient Rich Foods

To avoid the chills, aches, coughing, and sneezing   that are common with the flu season, it’s important to think about ways to boost our immune system. 

One way to begin boosting your immune system is by consuming nutrient-rich foods. Here are five nutritous foods that can help boost your immune system:

1. Citrus

Citrus fruits are loaded with Vitamin C. Vitamin C is essential for battling infections. Throw an orange into your lunch for that Vitamin C kick!

2. Spinach

Of course, all green vegetables are full of nutrients, but spinach has an immense amounts of antioxidants and vitamin C. Eating raw spinach is actually proven to be more beneficial than cooking it.

3. Yogurt

Rich with probiotics  and Vitamin D, yogurt is the known for its live cultures that strengthen the immune and digestive system. 

4. Almonds

Almonds are the perfect immune system boost for its inclusion of Vitamin E.  Next time you are looking for a filling snack, a serving of almonds can go a long way.

5. Garlic

Beyond the smelly breath, garlic is known for being incredible beneficial for the immune system. It is antiviral and antifungal!
