How to Avoid Overeating During the Holidays

It seems like just yesterday that us Wildcats were moving back onto campus for the new academic year. But so quickly, the Fall semester is almost over. With the end of the Fall semester comes the excitment of the holiday season.

While the holiday season is known for bringing festivity and cheer, it is also known to bring treats that aren’t so friendly to the waistline. With all of the opportunities to indulge in your favorite holiday goodies, it is important to be thoughtful about choices you make.

This article provides some tips to help us steer ourselves in the right direction, while still celebrating with our loved ones:

1. Eat healthy most of the time.

2. Eat what you LOVE.

3. Mind your portions.

4. Try eating from red plates.

5. Eat more fruits and veggies.

6. Limit liquid calories.

7. Keep up your exercise routine.

8. Drop the guilt.

So, no need to panic. Indulging in your favorite holiday dishes is part of the seasonal celebration. Just be mindful of your behavior.
