Find Out the Different Signs and Symptoms of Stress and What you Can do to Manage It!

Have you heard comments from your mentors, your family, or even your doctor emphasizing the importance of lowering your stress? Maybe you begin to notice feeling ill when you are the most stressed? This could be a result from not only overworking your mind—but also your physical body.

While stress is certainly a mental or emotional strain from demanding tasks and responsibilities, there are actual physical ramifications from too much stress. Stress can cause harmful changes within the systems that regulate your heart, lungs, bowels, and even your reproductive system.

Watch for these signs and symptoms, and recognize the importance of taking breaks and asking for help:

1. Muscle aches and pains

2. Memory problems

3. Heartburn, diarrhea, constipation

4. Frequent headaches

5. Nausea, dizziness, difficulty breathing

6. Weight gain or weight loss

7. Chest pain, rapid heartbeat, or constant fidgeting

8. Frequent colds, flu or infections

9. Insomnia or disturbing dreams

10. Loss of sex drive

Your health is the involvement of both your mental and physical wellbeing. These two work hand in hand, and constant or excessive stress can lead to some dire side effects.
