Does The Holiday Season Make You Tense?

With the holidays quickly approaching, many moms and dads may have an increased stress level.

You are likely thinking about countless hours of decorating, cleaning, cooking, shopping for gifts, and driving from party to party. You end up feeling overwhelmed and exhausted and in need a vacation.

However, you can make this year different! Be realistic, planning ahead will help to minimize your stress level. Don’t be tempted to leave you “to- do list” until the night before your party. After the party, people are going to remember the quality time-shared with their family not if the napkins were folded perfectly. Lastly, the holidays should be about spending time with family that add to your happiness!

Appreciate your friends and loved ones. Don’t forget to breathe. Mostly importantly enjoy the moment.

Web MD provides the following tips to reduce your stress:

  1. Create the holiday you want
  2. Involve your kids
  3. Postpone family feuds
  4. Play Games
  5. Have Compassion for yourself and others
