Position/Role at UNH: Alumni
Year Started at UNH: 2002
1. What does health mean to you?
To me, health is measured in a person’s perception of physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. I gauge my health based on my sense of energy, emotional wellbeing, and ability to live without physical restrictions.
2. What do you do to make a healthy UNH?
As UNH alumni and and practicing Athletic Trainer in the seacoast community, over the years I have had the opportunity to aid both current students and fellow alumni in achieving their strength and conditioning as well as their injury rehab goals.
3. How do you stay fit?
Personally I stay physically fit by participating in strength and conditioning activities, men’s hockey leagues, hunting, biking, and partaking while teaching my young children many new games and activities to enjoy for the rest of their lives.
4. Do you have any tips for eating healthfully?
I think that anyone attempting to improve their eating habits should set positive/attainable goals that can continue to evolve in order to develop a more healthy and sustainable lifestyle.
5. How do you find motivation to stay healthy?
I stay motivated to remain healthy due to my desire to have many more happy years with my young family.
I feel that UNH provided a great environment in order to practice healthy living habits. While at UNH, I participated in intramural sports, frequently used the fitness center, and benifited from the many healthy options available at dining services.
6. Have you made any tangible improvements to your physical or mental well-being by making positive changes in your life?
I am constantly trying to improve my physical and mental well being by staying involved with physical activities, eating healthy, evolving as a health care professional, and remaining involved in church and spiritual activities.
7. Anything else you would like to add that might encourage others on campus to make health efforts too?
Whether a current student or UNH alumni, it is important that we all make healthy choices in order to ensure that we are able to meet our potential as a person, professional, and community member. Good luck with all your fitness goals and “Stay Healthy UNH”.
