The Importance of Healthcare in the Upcoming Election

Why your Vote Matters
There is a lot of media attention surrounding the upcoming presidential election. The platforms of both candidates – Donald Trump (Republican) and Hillary Clinton (Democrat) – are surrounded by controversy. These two candidates have extremely opposing views and one thing they certainly disagree about is the availability of healthcare.
One major accomplishment of the Obama Administration was the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Popularly known as Obamacare, implementation of this multi-phased act began in 2012. One major part of ACA is the offering of affordable health insurance options to the millions of Americans, who, prior to ACA, could not afford it.
It is estimated that around 11 million Americans utilize this program and receive substantial benefits from it. If Hilary Clinton is elected for President, she will support ACA. However, if Donald Trump is elected as President, he will repeal the act.
