Graduating During A Pandemic
How To Virtually Celebrate Graduation
Many of us, myself included, are graduating this spring. Whether it be high school or college, it is a BIG DEAL! It's easy to get really bummed about missing out on decorating your cap, the commencement ceremony, and graduation parties. We have worked so hard for this moment and it feels like we have been robbed of our moments to shine. Never fear –you can still host a super fun virtual party-social distancing style.
- Decorate! Just because no one will be at your house, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t hang streamers and balloons to celebrate.
- Make some snacks. For added fun, tell your guests to make the same things so you can feel more united!
- Choose your music. Create a fun, celebratory Spotify playlist to get everyone in the mood.
- Send out invitations. You can send a creative e-vite through email, or get a little crafty and mail homemade cards to your guests.
Though we can’t see each other in person right now, we can still throw fun parties and get-togethers. If a party is not in your interests, don’t forget to call your family and friends and check in on them now and again. Remember, social distancing does NOT mean social isolation, and now more than ever we need to support one another. UNH is doing everything it can to ensure proper closure for students and staff. Join in on the end of the year celebrations the university and individual departments are putting on, and give yourself a pat on the back. You did it! You graduated!
