Get Your Nutrients, and Eat Your Pie Too!

Now that the holiday season is in full swing, most of us are anticipating quality time with family full of amazing food, gift swapping, and making happy memories. This can also be a stressful time for others, as the thought of meals during Christmas, Thanksgiving, or any other holidays that are celebrated with a table full of food is full of “empty calories”, or how they might skip out on the stuffing so they don’t break their diet.

However, just as one day of eating low-calorie and healthier won’t make you lose weight, one day of eating a bit more won’t make you gain weight! There is no such thing as a “bad” food, and that includes a delicious thanksgiving dinner, which can easily still be full of nutrients!

It is important to keep this in mind, because spending the holidays panicking over every extra calorie eaten can turn a wonderful holiday into a day full of fear. Just remind yourself that you are more than what you eat, and everyone deserves to enjoy all the foods they love and not beat themselves up over it!

Arguably the best part of the holiday season is the dessert. Don’t skip out on the pies and cookies just because you ate a big dinner, eat as much dessert as your heart desires because it makes you happy and you deserve it!
