We’re Nationally Recognized

In 2016, Health & Wellness was awarded national accreditation for the sixth consecutive time by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). AAAHC accreditation is specifically for organizations that provide medical or diagnostic services in settings where overnight stays are not required, including college health centers, group medical and dental practices and community health centers. Status as an accredited organization means Health & Wellness has met nationally recognized standards for the provision of quality health care, set by the AAAHC. The accreditation period is three years. Health & Wellness will undergo the accreditation process again in 2019.

What are they saying about us?

“UNH Student Health Service was among the finest healthcare organizations that I have surveyed, staffed by clinicians and clinical support staff of the highest caliber, and run by an administration that emphasized quality at every turn and that consistently put the needs and values of the patients it serves first.” And, “the Health Education and Promotion and Quality Improvement programs were examples of excellence within their respective disciplines, both coordinated and staffed by talented, motivated people.”

- David E. Newman, M.D., former director of the Hammond Health Center at Ithaca College and 2016 AAAHC surveyor for UNH

“I have been doing site visits for over 25 years and Health & Wellness is truly one of the best organizations I have surveyed. How lucky the University and community is to have these services available to them!”

- Dr. Thomas E. Lipps, Occupational Medicine Director at the Bronson Battle Creek Health System in Battle Creek, Michigan, and 2013 AAAHC surveyor for UNH
