Elizabeth Munsterberg Koppitz Child Psychology Graduate Student Fellowship

The Elizabeth Munsterberg Koppitz Fellowship Program provides fellowships and scholarships for graduate student research in the area of child psychology. The goal of the program is to nurture excellent young scholars for careers in areas of psychology, such as child-clinical, pediatric, school, educational and developmental psychopathology as well as support scholarly work contributing to the advancement of knowledge in these areas.

Francis and Evelyn Clark Soil Biology Scholarship

The Francis and Evelyn Clark Soil Biology Scholarship was established to recognize the importance of soil biology and the understanding of soil, plant, and microbial interactions and of nutrient cycling in terrestrial ecosystems. The scholarship is supported by a gift from Dr. and Mrs. Francis Clark to the Agronomic Science Foundation and administered by the Soil Science Society of America.

Eligibility: Must be a graduate student working in the field of soil biology or biochemistry or microbial ecology. The nominee will have demonstrated scholarship and leadership during his/her graduate studies. Identification of special financial need will be taken into consideration.

AAA Minority Dissertation Fellowship

The American Anthropological Association Minority Dissertation Fellowship is intended to encourage members of racialized minorities to complete doctoral degrees in anthropology, thereby increasing diversity in the discipline and/or promoting research on issues of concern among minority populations. Dissertation topics in all areas of the discipline are welcome. Doctoral students who require financial assistance to complete the write-up phase of the dissertation are urged to apply.

Eligibility: An applicant must be: (1) a US citizen, or have graduated from a U.S. high school, or completed a GED certificate in the United States; (2) a member of an historically underrepresented ethnic minority group, including, but not limited to: African Americans, Alaskan Natives, American Indians or Native Americans, Asian Americans, Latino/as, Chicano/as, and Pacific Islanders; (3) enrolled in a full-time academic program leading to a doctoral degree in anthropology at the time of application (4) admitted to degree candidacy before the dissertation fellowship is awarded; and (5) a member of the American Anthropological Association. The dissertation proposal must be approved by the applicant's committee prior to application. Students of any subfield or specialty in anthropology will receive equal consideration.

AAAS Mass Media Science and Engineering Fellows Program

This 10-week summer program places science, engineering, and mathematics students at media organizations nationwide. Fellows use their academic training as they research, write, and report today’s headlines, sharpening their abilities to communicate complex scientific issues to the public.

Value: $500 weekly stipend and travel expenses
Eligibility: Applicants must be enrolled as college or university students (graduate, doctoral, or upper level undergraduates) — or within one year of a completed degree — in the physical, biological, geological, health, engineering, computer, or social sciences or mathematics in order to apply. Students enrolled in English, journalism, science journalism, or other non-technical fields are not eligible for these fellowships. Successful applicants must attend an orientation at AAAS headquarters at the beginning of the summer (early June) and a wrap-up session at the end of the summer (mid-August). They will prepare reports on the progress of their fellowships throughout their placement.

AAS China and Inner Asia Council (CIAC) Small Grants

Dissertation-level graduate students and scholars with special interests in China or Inner Asia are invited to submit proposals to fund research.

Eligibility: Applicants must be current AAS members, but there are no citizenship requirements. Junior and independent scholars, adjunct faculty, and dissertation-level graduate students are especially encouraged to apply.

AAUW Selected Professions Fellowship

The American Association of University Women's Selected Professions Fellowship aims to support women in graduate and professional degree programs in fields where female participation traditionally has been low. Women in master's level degrees in architecture, computer/information science, engieering, and math/statistics are eligible for funding in any year of study. Women in business administration may apply for second year of study only; women in law may apply for third year of study only; and women in medicine may apply for third or fourth year of study only. Applications for these three fields are open only to women from ethnic minority groups historically underrepresented in certain fields within the United States.

Value: $5,000-$18,000
Eligibility: Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States who have achieved high standards of academic excellence and show promise of distinction in their respective fields. Applicants must be full-time students at an accredited U.S. institution during the fellowship year, and should be pursuing a course of study in the United States over the full academic year. Priority is given to women who do not already hold a master’s or first professional degree. Selected Professions Fellowships are not open to previous recipients of any AAUW national fellowship or grant (not including branch or local awards or Community Action Grants).

Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation Scbolarships

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation is the largest provider of dietetic scholarships to deserving students at all levels of study.The number of scholarships varies from year to year, each with a value range of $500 to $10,000 each.

Eligibility: Students must be enrolled in one of the following programs a minimum of four months during the academic year (August 2020 to July 2021): The junior or senior year of a baccalaureate or coordinated program in dietetics, or The second year of study in a dietetic technician program, a dietetic internship program or a graduate program. If your application is pending for a program, such as a dietetic internship, you will not qualify for a scholarship until you receive confirmation of acceptance. A scholarship may require Membership in a specific dietetic practice group, and/or Residency in a specific state. A scholarship may be earmarked for underrepresented groups. Academy membership is required for all but two Foundation scholarships. Although Academy membership is not required to apply, it is highly recommended that you renew your membership before starting a scholarship application.

Adam Smith Fellowships

The aim of these fellowships is to introduce students to and encourage them to critically engage key thinkers in political economy that they might not otherwise encounter during their graduate studies. As such, Smith Fellows receive a quarterly stipend and spend three weekends during the academic year and one week during the summer in residence at George Mason University participating in workshops and seminars on the Austrian, Virginia, and Bloomington schools of political economy.

Value: Up to $10,000 (includes a stipend and travel and lodging to attend colloquia)
Eligibility: Applicants must be: enrolled in an accredited PhD program during the upcoming academic year; able to commit to traveling 3 weekends and 1 week for colloquia during the upcoming academic year; and have a research or teaching interest that would benefit from a greater understanding of key writings in political economy.
Major: Any field, but especially economics, philosophy, political science, and sociology.
