Pathway to Professorship

Excellence in research, teaching, and service are key components in advancing the career of a faculty member. These high standards continue after promotion to Associate.

Promotion to full professor is contingent on continuing excellence in research and teaching and balancing this with high-quality contributions to service. The Office of Engagement and Faculty Development is offering Pathway to Professorship to support faculty members in career planning toward achieving the rank of full professor.

Pathway to Professorship will be offered in fall 2021.  We seek participants interested in enhancing their readiness for promotion to full professor. Participants learn strategies to enhance the success of their case for promotion.

The program assists clinical, research, and tenure-track faculty members who have been promoted to Associate Professor between 2006 and 2020.

Faculty considering going up for full professor within the next five years should attend this workshop series.

The 2021 Pathway to Professorship program includes three required workshops scheduled on September 17, October 15, and November 12 face-to-face.  For details, click the information link, below.
