Description: The Department of Psychology at the University of New Hampshire invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral appointment to start in fall 2022. Candidates should have expertise in developmental psychology, with a research focus on cognitive processes in children, adolescents, and/or adults. Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in Psychology or a related discipline by the time of the appointment.
The candidate should demonstrate interest in interdisciplinary research collaboration, be committed to diversity and social justice in research and teaching, and show promise of scholarly excellence as well as enthusiasm for undergraduate teaching. Postdoctoral scholars purse their own independent research. A senior psychology faculty member will serve as research mentor. The teaching load is one course per year with remaining time devoted to independent research and professional development.
Additional professional development support will be provided in the form of participation in faculty development academies with early career postdoctoral scholars and faculty, coaching by senior faculty colleagues, workshops on teaching and learning, involvement in department activities, and support funds provided. The Scholar will also attend workshops on grant writing and the development of a long-range funded research plan.
