Web Developer



POSITION SUMMARY: WhyHunger, a visible, globally focused non-profit, seeks a full time web developer to support, develop and maintain a complex web site and become an integral part of the marketing and development team.

  • Learn, maintain, support and develop existing site or sites
  • Collaborate and meet regularly with marketing and program development teams
  • Work with other developers and consultants as needed
  • Engage with online marketing, including e-newsletters, search engine optimization, blogging and social media
  • Drive and track web traffic using SEO, Ad Words, Analytics, etc.
  • Track, analyze and report on traffic and performance of sites and social media platforms
  • Provide regular reports and team updates
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and make recommendation on web strategy
  • Update and upload content as needed


  • Back end coding – HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Developing for WordPress and CMS sites
  • Some experience in PHP/MySql
  • Optimization of website for search engines
  • Experience with graphic design programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc)
  • Strong writing, grammatical skills a plus


  • Demonstrable documentation skills
  • Exceptional organizational, diplomatic and interpersonal communication skills
  • Persistent follow through on all tasks and initiatives
  • Works best in a strongly team-oriented environment
  • Thorough, detail-oriented
  • Commitment to social justice


  • Salary: $50K - $60K depending on experience
  • Paid medical insurance coverage
