Kitchen Table Consultants ( is virtual team of business people helping passionate farmers and food artisans build lasting, profitable, locally-focused businesses- and we’re experiencing rapid growth.   In business since 2009, we have helped nearly 100 small businesses, more than 50% of those are food or farm related.  Those businesses employ over 300 people and generate in excess of $30 million in annual local product sales.Our team is fortunate to work with some of the most dynamic and innovative farmers, non-profits and makers in our region.  We are searching for a part time (10-20 hrs per week) Associate / Business Analyst to join our team.  This very important team member will assist our principals and consultants in providing outstanding business support, clarity around financial management and economic drivers to assist clients in understanding their profit potential.

While we would prefer someone with previous small business ownership or leadership experience, we are also open to people with an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to help others succeed.

Experience required:

  1. QuickBooks: 
    1. 2-3 years hands on experience using QuickBooks, desire to use it as a tool, not just data entry.
    2. Must know how to use classes
    3. Must know how to use job costing


  1. Accounting:
    1. Bank Statement Reconciliation experience
    2. Loan Reconciliation Experience
    3. Journal Entry Experience
    4. Non-Profit Experience a plus
    5. For-Profit Experience a MUST


  1. Analysis:
    1. You like to solve puzzles.
    2. You use Excel for more than just a list…
    3. You are detail oriented and ask good, hard questions
    4. You’ve built financial budgets.

Hours:  This will start as a part-time position, of 10-20 hours per week, but could quickly change to a full-time position depending on your skills.

Location:  Our team is located in and around the great Philadelphia area, however much of this work could be done virtually so we would consider candidates that are not local. 

Other Requirements:  You must have your own transportation, your own laptop with Microsoft Office installed, your own cell phone and office space.

Compensation:  A very competitive hourly rate dependent on experience, qualifications, and whether hours are internal or billable to a client.
