Edward (“Ed”) M. Friedlander ’88 was an incredible man and passionate entrepreneur. He graduated from UNH with a BS in Civil Engineering. At UNH, he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and developed lifelong friendships that he maintained, fostered, and cherished throughout his life. These friends are now honoring Ed's legacy with the Edward M. Friedlander ’88 Memorial Entrepreneurship Scholarship Fund.
The scholarship selection will be managed by UNH’s Entrepreneurship Center in conjunction with its Idea + Innovation Society application process.
Ed began his working career as an entrepreneur, then spent over 10 years working and growing with Newmarket International in Portsmouth, NH as a Hospitality Sales Executive. For the last 15 years Ed was the Senior Vice President of Business Development at Vestmark in Wakefield, MA. At Vestmark his tenacity and commitment made an immeasurable contribution to the company's growth and culture. Ed truly believed in the power of Vestmark and the people with whom he worked.
Scott Hendrickson ’89 notes, “I met Ed in 1984 standing in the registration line on our first day at UNH and quickly learned you never have an average day with Ed by your side. The friendships and memories from Durham and beyond inspire us to honor our friend with help from our extended UNH family. To celebrate the gift of Ed Friedlander, we are establishing a scholarship in his name. Please join us in donating to this fund to honor Ed’s memory and the impact he had on all our lives.”
The scholarship will provide merit-based support to students who demonstrate entrepreneurial experience, interest, or skills. If you're interested in donating to the Edward M. Friedlander ’88 Memorial Entrepreneurship Scholarship Fund, please click here.
